Government employee looking for home to rent (that allows pets) (Peoria)

Hello and greetings. I am a State of Illinois employee who is relocating from Chicago to the Peoria/Pekin area at the end of the month. I am currently looking for a home to rent, specifically one that allows non-mammal pets. Let me explain.

I own a rather large collection of reptiles and amphibians (25 animals at the moment). All of my animals are small, harmless and legal to own per Illinois and Peoria law. These animals are all kept in secure enclosures and do not smell nor can they cause any damage to the property. I want to stress that I do not own any large snakes, monitor lizards, alligators or giant turtles/tortoises. Most of my collection is under 12 inches long with a few exceptions. I am happy to provide a renter a list of species I own as well for transparency purposes.

Here is a little more about me. I am a young Caucasian male who enjoys hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. I am very active in the non-profit community here in Chicago and stay busy with my hobbies and animal care. I am also a former teacher, non-smoker and like to keep a clean living space. Ideally I would like to move in by October 1st.

If you know of any properties that may be available, I am looking for rental homes in the $700-$900 range. Also, a basement with electric (wall outlets) would be great since I could easily make that my reptile area. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Hope to hear from you!
