Never before has there been an opportunity to put beef in your freezer at a great value. About a month ago the largest beef processing plant in the US had a fire & has temporarily closed. The live cattle market has collapsed, beef prices in the store are up ~ 10%. I have a fat heifer that is smaller & perfect size for the freezer. She was born & raised on our farm near Avon, IL. Purebred Angus carcass weight should be around 550 lbs. Price is $1.70 per lb

(todays market price) carcass weight + processing at Woodhull Locker in Woodhull, IL. I turned down $1.82 for my fat cattle 4 weeks ago thinking the market would go up....then the fire that dropped the cattle price a bunch & raised beef prices. If you want to split a beef with your neighbor, I do have a bigger steer at the same price or a WAGYU steer at a higher price.
