Up for sale is a statue titled “Hightrails” by Michael Garman. The 9-3/4” tall sculpture features a mountain man with animal fur hat, leather fringed coat, 2 powder horns, ammunition ball bag, pistol handle showing at belt, and Indian sash. The High Trails frontiersman has a full beard plus wears a tooth necklace. He is holding a muzzleloading rifle over his shoulders. At his feet is a pair of snowshoes. The base of the statue is marked with the artist’s name, “Michael Garman” and near the copyright symbol is dated “1990”. The bottom of the base is marked, “Michael Garman Productions, Inc. Hightrails #276S-Handpainted Colorado Springs, Colorado Made in USA”. The hand painted Michael Garman statues have surged in value after his recent passing in 2021. Note that this is the handpainted version and not a brass colored version. The statue is in good condition with no cracks or chips.
